Admission Information

Admission Policy

Vineyard Christian School’s mission is to provide young people with a quality Christian education. Admission to the school is not limited to those of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. Others who desire a Christ-centered emphasis may apply. Our school admits students of any racial, social, religious, national and/or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school.

All students and parents who apply for admission to the school agree to uphold the principles on which the school is founded and abide by its regulations.

Note: Vineyard Christian School will not accept students who have a poor behavioral record or who have been suspended or expelled from school except in special circumstances reviewed and approved by the School Operating Committee. Furthermore, Vineyard Christian School is not structured to assist with severely handicapped, emotionally disturbed children, or children who have special education needs. Prior to acceptance, each student’s application is review by the SOC. Upon completion of the review, every student is placed on provisional status for a period of 1 month. At the end of this 1 month period, if the student has demonstrated a positive compliance with the school’s policies and procedures, the provisional status is dropped without further discussion.

Registration

Students are expected to register on or before July 31. Registration is completed when all fees are paid and permanent registration forms are approved. A $30.00 late fee will be imposed for those registering after July 31.

Academic Evaluation and Placement

All students in grades 1-8 are required to take an entrance/placement exam to determine proper class placement. A minimum standardized test score at the 40th percentile or above is required. Those scoring below the 40th percentile are subject to review by the School Operating committee. A placement exam will also be given at the beginning of the second semester, to track academic growth. This testing, which is designed to measure individual performances, will be in addition to the yearly achievement tests given by the SDA Conference to measure system wide performances.
